"She prepares herself for hard work,
(or, 'girds her hips with strength')"
- Proverbs 31:17a
I love this footnote about girding your hips with strength.
In Bible times, a belt was often worn at the hips, especially by the soldier to carry his sword. (2Sa 20:8; Ne 4:18) Before engaging in any form of vigorous physical activity, a person would ‘gird up his hips,’ often by pulling the ends of his loose, flowing garment between his legs and tucking those ends under his sash. --Ex 12:11; 1Ki 18:46.
We all know that women didn't participate in battle then, but,

We all know that women didn't participate in battle then, but,
Being a woman today certainly is a battle which we march into
every single day.
The demands of being wives and/or mothers are strenuous and difficult, to say the least.
Our work is a battle.
Our work is a battle.
We fight the world, defend our children, and conquer evil.
Today's Day 11 Challenge is:
You are strong! Work hard.
Spend today remembering your strength.
So often we feel like we are failing and weak ... but
You try your hardest.
You fight for your family.
Your love for them knows no bounds;
And you are capable of being strong for them.

Your love for them knows no bounds;
And you are capable of being strong for them.
